Octopus House
This project explored how far storytelling can go when there is no starting context, just pure architecture and imagination. Set in a remote, arid landscape with no surrounding development, the house became the perfect canvas for a full visual exploration.
What We Delivered
A fully built environment crafted from scratch and eight key frames designed to simulate the demands of a real client brief. The sequence included three exterior scenes, two interior views, a courtyard, an aerial perspective, and a detailed facade study. Each visual tested a different condition: clear sunlight for clarity, overcast light for atmosphere, and nighttime for emotion. The result was a cohesive world that supports the architecture rather than competes with it.
The Process
The concept, originally featured on ArchDaily and designed by Mork Ulnes Architects, served as a foundation for an in-depth internal workshop. Every element: terrain, vegetation, materials, lighting, mood was shaped to strengthen narrative flow. The goal was not only to produce beautiful images, but to refine a process that mirrors real project challenges: defining context, building emotion, and guiding the viewer’s perception with intention.
The Results
The series became a strategic internal benchmark, proving our ability to create compelling storytelling even in the absence of a brief, constraints, or real-world context. It demonstrates how thoughtful visual direction can give architecture a sense of place, purpose, and emotional weight, even when starting from nothing.
For Future Clients
This case study highlights the value we bring to developers and architecture firms: the ability to elevate a project beyond the drawing board, create context where none exists, and deliver visuals that help you sell earlier and communicate your design with clarity and impact. When your next project needs a strong narrative, this is the level of depth we bring to the table.
